Guedes da Silva, Associate Professor with Habilitation at the Instituto Superior Técnico and member of the Centro de Química Estrutural (Coordinator of the Group on Coordination Chemistry and Catalysis), has been awarded the Scientific Prize Universidade de Lisboa / Caixa Geral de Depósitos 2017 in the scientific area of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Pharmaceutical Engineering, in recognition of the merit of her scientific activity, expressed by the high productivity and relevance of publications in international journals in the last five years (period of 2012-2016).Read more

Members of CQE recently distinguished with prizes

Prof. Luísa M. Martins has been awarded the  Scientific Excellence Prize IPL-CGD for the Areas of Technology and Engineering (see the picture taken at the awarding ceremony, held at IPL on June 5th, 2017, with the awardee, the President of IPL and the representative of CGD) and Dr. Elisabete Alegria was then awarded a “Diploma de Mérito”. This Prize was awarded for the first time by the Instituto Politécnico de Lisboa (IPL), with sponsorship from the Caixa Geral de Depósitos (CGD), to recognize the scientific productivity and impact of its members along the last three years.Read more

Prof. Teresa Duarte was awarded a Senior Visiting Fellowship at IAS, Bologna

Prof. Teresa Duarte was last year awarded a Senior Visiting Fellowship at the Institute of Advanced Studies of the Alma Mater Studiorum University of Bologna. During her stay she will have the opportunity to meet other colleagues in the College of Excellence, as well as the selected PhD students enrolled by the Institute. On February the 22nd we’ll have a talk by Dr. João Paulo Leal from C2TN, IST. João Paulo got his PhD in 1993 in Molecular Energetics from the University of Lisbon and his habilitation in 2012, where he was invited professor from 2000 to 2013. He develops his investigation in C2TN in the fields of thermodynamics, mass spectrometry, radiation, environmental resources, properties prediction and new technologies for teaching chemistry.
