PROMOTING INTERNATIONAL PROGRAMMES: DEVELOPING MOBILITY AND MULTI-CULTURALISM AT IST
In addition to the highest quality of training in the areas of Engineering, Science and Technology, future professionals need to have a global vision and exposure to multinational, multicultural working teams. Internationalization becomes an intrinsic component of higher education and a fundamental skill for future engineers or architects.
Several international events are organised with the following goals:
- inform IST students about the different programmes for student mobility, joint degrees, etc.,
- provide an opportunity for IST students, teaching and non-teaching staff to contact directly some of our main international academic partners,
- promote the discussion of internationalization strategies in research universities/institutes.
The most important events are:
- The International Day, organised in 2008, 2009 and a new edition at the next 16 November 2010.
- The International Week, which will be organised for the first time at 2010, from 15th to 19th November 2010.
